BACKGROUND RTM, an agency under the Ministry of Information, Communication and Culture is tasked with disseminating information through radio, TV and the new media channels. As a public broadcast station, RTM now operates 35 radio stations, two television channels, TVi available on ASTRO channel 180 and Muzik Aktif on broadband. RTM's primary function is to fulfill its social obligation and be partially commercial.
